This was a project to create a brand for a new furniture store opening in 2017. I created Sidähn, a contemporary, minimalist brand based on the idea that the furniture is a collection, as if in a gallery. The name Sidähn was developed from the Sheffield colloquialism Si’dan as in take a seat. While those from the area may get it, those who don’t will still see the brand as contemporary.
The premise of the brand is that the furniture Sidähn sells is part of a collection, the best around that has been gathered to one place. To try and further emphasise this I used themed frames as section starters in the brochure and on advertisements too as a focal point. Different enough to be unique in a saturated market, but without alienating a customer base.
The feel of the brand is rather European contemporary, for this reason I designed the brochure and promotional material with Swiss Design in mind, using negative space and paying careful attention to typography and layout.
